๐ Strawberry โข ๐ซ Blueberry โข ๐ฅ Yoghurt
Intro
Bold, funky and seriously indulgent. This lot comes from Finca Monteblanco, Rodrigo Sanchez's famous farm high above Pitalito in Huila, Colombia โ a place better known as a fermentation laboratory than a conventional coffee farm. Co-fermented with red fruit, it delivers a cup that tastes like strawberries and blueberries stirred into creamy yoghurt.

The Producer
Rodrigo Sanchez has turned Finca Monteblanco into one of the most talked-about micro-farms in Colombia. Sitting at around 1,730 metres near Pitalito, the farm is internationally recognised for its experimental fermentation work โ producing coffees that push far beyond what most people expect from a Colombian cup.
The Process
This lot uses a Red Fruit Co-Fermentation:
- ๐ Ripe cherry selection โ Caturra cherries harvested at peak ripeness
- ๐ Co-fermentation โ Cherries are fermented together with a red fruit nectar and selected yeasts
- โ๏ธ Controlled drying โ Slowly dried to lock in the developed aromatics
The co-ferment amplifies sweetness and fruit intensity, giving a vivid, dessert-like cup that's very different from a classic washed Colombian.
The Cup
Intense strawberry hits immediately, joined by ripe blueberry. A creamy, yoghurt-like texture wraps around the fruit and carries into a smooth, sweet and very fruity finish. Acidity is medium and the body is creamy. A coffee for anyone who loves loud, expressive flavours โ and a great conversation starter for friends who think coffee only tastes like coffee.
