This coffee grows at an altitude of 1400-2000 metres in the department of Santa Rosa. Smallholder farmers sell the ripe berries immediately after picking to processing stations where they are washed and separated by quality.
In the Santa Rosa region, farmers favour Catuai and Bourbon varieties and process the berries with the classic washing method. Plantations are located on volcanic rich soils in the mountains, creating unique conditions for coffee cultivation.
