Another amazing lot from Aromas Del Valle, a farmer-owned cooperative that specialises in specialty coffee production in Peru. His association employs 283 small farmers, each with a farm measuring just 1-3 hectares.
Despite the ideal climate for coffee growing, many smallholders in Peru previously lacked the infrastructure to realise the full potential of the terroir. Aromas Del Valle aims to change this situation.
The co-operative provides technical support, ensures economic sustainability, implements higher production standards and provides access to the global speciality coffee market. As part of Aromas Del Valle, farmers can invest in their own production, creating micro lots or regional blends of high quality.
This coffee is exactly a microlot blend from such farmers. The berries were processed the washed way: they were depulped immediately after picking, then placed in fermentation tanks for 18 hours before being washed and dried for 2 weeks on the patio. πβ¨
