Terroir Redefined: Uraga [SuperNatural]
Hailing from the high-altitude forests of Uraga, Guji, this lot represents a significant leap in Ethiopian processing technology. The "SuperNatural" protocol, developed in collaboration with Project Origin, is a high-intervention drying method that intensifies flavor depth without sacrificing the pristine cleanliness that defines the Guji region.
The "SuperNatural" Protocol
The SuperNatural process begins with extremely high-altitude Heirloom cherries (up to 1945m). These cherries undergo a slow, controlled fermentation where they are "burrito-wrapped" in thick stacks on raised beds. This creates a thermal spike that deepens the development of tropical fruit precursors before they are unwrapped and dried thinly for over 25 days. The result is a cup with a wild, exotic complexity and a structured, "candied" acidity.
Sensory Profile
This lot is a study in tropical vibrancy and botanical elegance:
- Aromatics: Exotic guava nectar and wild floral honey.
- Primary Notes: Intense Guava and Candied Orange.
- Finish: A sophisticated, lingering note of Marigold and bergamot.

Brewing Guidance
Due to the density of the Uraga beans and the intensity of the SuperNatural process, this coffee performs exceptionally well with lower agitation. Aim for a slightly coarser grind and a water temperature of 93°C to allow the marigold florals to shine through the heavy guava sweetness.
